Academic Information

Graduation Requirements
For students to obtain a high school diploma in the state of Tennessee and the Wilson County school district, students must successfully complete specific courses in certain subject areas.


Total - 26 Credits

Math: 4 credits
English: 4 credits
Science: 3 credits
Social Studies: 3 credits (Government .5 credit and Econ .5 credit (students actually take 4 classes, but 3 credits are earned)
Wellness: 1 credit
Physical Education: .5 credit
Personal Finance: .5 credit
World Language: 2 credits
Fine Arts: 1 credit
Elective Focus: 3 credits
Electives: 4 additional elective credits are required
 

Other Graduation Requirements

  1. College Entrance Exam: All students must take either the ACT or SAT. The ACT is provided for free in the student's junior and senior year.
  2. U.S. Civics Assessment: All students must take and pass a U.S. Civics assessment.
  3. Civics Project-Based Assessment: All students must complete a civics-based project.

Grading scale
A = 90 - 100        I = Incomplete
B = 80 - 89          PR = Progressing
 C = 70 - 79
 D = 60 - 69
F = Below 70

Grade Point Averages
Student numeric grade averages are calculated on a 4.0 scale.  The calculation is an average of final semester grades for every attempted course with the potential to earn high school credit.

 Lebanon High no longer calculates class rank.

Report Cards
LHS is on a semester schedule, and credit is awarded at the end of each semester.  Reports cards are available electronically in the middle and at the end of each semester.
