Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens on October 1st! Completing this online application is the next step in preparing for college next year and helps unlock scholarships and grant money for students.

Here are things you can do now to prepare for the launch of the FAFSA on October 1st.

  1. Create an FSA ID - both the student and a parent will need to have FSA IDs.  These accounts can take several days to verify before you can begin the FAFSA, so don’t wait to create your FSA ID.  Directions on how to do this are attached!

    1. Please make sure to keep your login information somewhere safe - you will need this EVERY year you are enrolled in college!

  2. Gather all tax information from your 2024 tax returns as you will need to have access to this information while completing the FAFSA.

If you’re unsure of which parent will need to help complete the FAFSA, you can use this tool to help clarify who will need to provide information on the FAFSA https://studentaid.gov/fafsa-apply/parents?utm_source=mcp&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=camp_1653
