Financial Aid and Scholarships

• Award Amount: $2,250 per semester (freshman/sophomore) and $2,850 per semester (junior and senior) for 4 year institutions; $1,600  each semester for 2 year inst.
• Students must have a minimum of a 21 ACT OR overall GPA of 3.0 unweighted.
• No income requirements
• Students must enroll within 16 months of high school graduation at an eligible institution.
• Must complete FAFSA in order to be considered for the HOPE Scholarship

The Lebanon Breakfast Rotary is sponsoring a scholarship for a senior who plans to attend Cumberland University next year.  

Eligibility Requirements:
• Student must be a graduate of any Wilson County High School with preference given to a Lebanon or Watertown resident
• Student must have a minimum ACT score of 20 or SAT of 1060
• Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Student must be accepted to Cumberland University

1. The Jack Diller Education Award gives four college-bound students in the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area a $2,500 scholarship each. The scholarship takes academic achievement, athletic success and community involvement into consideration. For more information on how to apply click this link.
2. The Terry Crisp Scholarship is a $5,000 annual grant to a Middle Tennessee high school senior that will enroll at a public college or university in the state of Tennessee. The scholarship will be awarded to the student that best possesses the traits that Terry embodied himself through his playing, coaching and broadcasting careers and all through his life: leadership, hard work, passion, perseverance and outstanding character. The Harper Family Scholarship awards a scholarship each year to a Lebanon High School graduate that attends Tennessee Tech University.   Currently, each scholarship recipient will be awarded $1,500 which is renewable each year for 4 years or 8 semesters over a 6-year period while attending Tennessee Tech.  At this time, the maximum award of $6,000 will be provided if the recipient maintains a GPA of 2.75 or above and demonstrates satisfactory progress toward earning a degree.

Tennessee Tech University’s Scholarship Office will select the scholarship winner each year.   All students must complete the TTU scholarship application on the TTU website.   The 2026-2027 scholarship application is open from August 1, 2025 through December 15, 2025.

Seniors may apply for the Tennessee Promise scholarship, which will provide two years of tuition-free attendance at a community or technical college in Tennessee.

• Offers 2 years of tuition free community or technical college to high school graduates beginning with the Class of 2015.
• No GPA, ACT or income requirements
• Complete 8 hours of community service
• Students must apply online at tnpromise.gov by November 1.
• Attend mandatory meetings at local high school
• Complete FAFSA by March 1 (verify the date at tnpromise.gov for deadlines each year)
• Apply for community college or Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) by spring.

Dear Wilson County Students and Parents:

PHOEBE Connections, Inc. is a 501©3 nonprofit organization that operates as a support group for widows. PHOEBE Connections is seeking to provide scholarships to children of widows in Wilson County who desire to further their education after high school. In order to receive a PHOEBE Connections scholarship, a student must meet each of the following criteria:

1.       Be the child of a widow* who has not remarried since her husband’s death. (Copy of marriage certificate and death certificate required.)

2.       Reside in Wilson County. (Proof of residency required – copy of utility bill, copy of valid driver’s license)

3.       Plan to attend an institution of higher learning to continue education. (Community college, senior college, trade school are all accepted.)

4.       Be an unmarried student and still a member of the mother’s household.

5.       Be born a U.S. citizen or have obtained citizenship through naturalization. (Birth certificate or naturalization certificate required.)

The amount and number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the number of applications received. All students awarded scholarships will be invited to attend a banquet, where each student will be recognized. The actual award will be made directly to the student’s school of choice and may be used for tuition, books, meal plans, or room and board. PHOEBE Connections will not make payments directly to students, thus protecting them from paying taxes on the amount awarded.

Each season, the Nashville Sounds Foundation awards scholarships to deserving Middle Tennessee graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college in the fall.

Who Is Eligible?

Student applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. College-bound senior currently attending a Nashville or Middle Tennessee area high school (must be attending a 4-year college or university in the fall of 2026).
2. Minimum grade point average of 2.5.
3. Demonstrate the value of education, good work ethic and community outreach.

There will be no discrimination regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
The Selection Committee will not base its decisions in any way on the employment status of an applicant or the employment status of the applicant's parents/guardians.

The Carol Ballard Pharris Scholarship is established to honor the legacy of founding PHOEBE Connections, Inc. member, Carol Ballard Pharris, for her example of servant leadership to Christian ministry and to the Wilson County, TN, community. In addition, PHOEBE Connections, Inc. seeks to promote servant leadership in the next generation by recognizing and honoring those students who exhibit the traits of servant leadership among their peers and in the community. For the purpose of this scholarship, servant leadership may be defined by the following:

·         A leader whose primary goal is to serve others

·         A leader who prioritizes the needs of others and helps them develop and perform at their best

·         A leader who is able to positively affect the growth and success of an organization or group by helping the members of that group grow and succeed as individuals

·         A leader who shares power and helps other members of the group perform at their best, rather than seeking to control or compete with them

·         A leader who focuses on relationships of equality and the achievement of others

·         A leader who attempts to promote innovation, empower others, and assure the well-being of those around him/her

·         A leader who demonstrates characteristics such as empathy, listening, stewardship and aims to develop leadership qualities in others

·         A leader who is recognized as a mentor to others

To qualify for the Carol Ballard Pharris Scholarship, a student must:

·         Be nominated by a community leader, such as a teacher, principal or vice-principal, counselor, pastor or youth pastor, elected official, civic leader or business leader, or anyone who might be considered a leader within a community. (A student cannot nominate himself/herself or be nominated by a parent.)

·         Exhibit the characteristics of servant leadership as listed above in this application.

·         Be a graduating high school senior panning to attend a college, university, seminary, or trade school.

·         Be a U.S. born citizen or naturalized citizen and present supporting documentation (birth certificate or naturalization certificate).

·         Be a resident of Wilson County, TN and present a valid ID with current address or utility bill as proof of residence.

The 2026 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering over $13,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college, or career school. The program includes:

• One $10,000 scholarship
• Two $1,000 scholarships
• Three $500 scholarships

All Tennessee seniors who apply for the Student-View Scholarship will also be automatically entered into the drawing for the new $500 Tennessee Senior Scholarship.

The application process is simple and requires only 15-20 minutes.

• No essay or lengthy application forms
• No application fees
