2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference

Last week, Lebanon High School proudly represented the state of Tennessee at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Students Nathan Luz-Santos (Carpentry) and Alanna Hollingsworth (Culinary Arts) showcased their talents alongside top contenders from across the country.

We’re thrilled to announce that Nathan earned the bronze medal in the Commercial Roofing competition, placing 3rd in the nation. This is a remarkable achievement and a first for the program. His performance included expertly installing a thermoplastic roof system on a mockup following National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) ProCertification standards, all while demonstrating the safety and technical excellence required at the professional level. He was also required to complete a written test, which is the same as the exam for one of NRCA’s Thermoplastic courses.

Meanwhile, Alanna ranked 22nd in the nation in Culinary Arts, turning out an array of impressive dishes. Though she didn’t get on the podium, her commitment, poise, and creativity stood out. Her culinary teacher, Mrs. Morgan, is proud of Alanna’s progress and noted this experience marks a meaningful step toward her goals.

These achievements reflect the dedication and countless hours both students poured into preparation. Nathan’s carpentry teacher, Mr. Wooten, shared heartfelt thanks: “Without the support of Rackley Roofing, none of this would have been possible. Seeing Nathan on that stage is a testament to his willpower, drive, and determination. We are proud of him. I am proud of him.” Congratulations to both Alanna and Nathan for representing Lebanon High, and Tennessee, with skill, heart, and excellence!
