The following student sign-out procedures help to ensure the safety of all of our students and also help our front office run more efficiently:

*   Skyward sign-out requests must be submitted by 11am for the day of sign out.  If you do not submit           the request by 11am, we will not see the request and your student will not be permitted to leave.

*   If a student brings a note to school to sign out early for any reason, that note must be turned in to             the front office before 8:00 AM.  Notes will not be accepted throughout the day.

• Notes should include a phone number so that the office can verify if needed.
• Parents/guardians/family contacts must be present to physically sign students out from school.  We check identification of adults who come on campus to sign out our students, and this cannot be done over the phone.  The adult must also be in Skyward as an approved family contact.  There will be no sign-outs after 3pm.  
• No phone calls or emails or faxes will be accepted for student sign-out during the school day.

How do I submit my parent or doctor's note (Notes must be turned in within 3 school days of absence)

Notes must contain the students first and last legal name and absence date.  Parent notes will include one of of the following board approved reasons or the absence will not be excused. 

1. Student’s personal injury or illness;
2. Illness of an immediate family member, with immediate family defined as a parent, sibling, or grandparent;
3. Death of an immediate family member or other individual with principal’s permission;
4. Extreme weather conditions;
5. Religious observances;
6. College or postsecondary visits;
7. Pregnancy;
8. School-sponsored or endorsed activities;
9. Parent/Guardian military deployment or return; or
10. Summons, subpoenas, or court order

A few examples of reasons for tardies/absences/early dismissals that will not be excused are oversleeping, car issues, family vacation, missing the bus not related to bus running late, or any other reason not related to the categories above.

Parent notes that do not list a reason will not be accepted.

To avoid using up all parent notes, please keep in mind that medical issues can always be excused with doctor notes.  No parent note is needed for death in the family if we receive an obituary.  No parent note is needed to excuse a college visit if we get written verification from the college that the student was there.  No parent note is needed for religious observation if we get something from the religious organization verifying the observation.

 To submit a parent or doctor note to excuse an absence for in school or virtual students:

1. Students can take the note to A100, drop it in the note box in the commons area,  or put it in the note box in the front office.

2. You can take a picture of the note and email Mrs. Conner-Davis connerdavisp@wcschools.com

     Please make sure that your picture includes all of the information on the doctor's note.

Student's that are going to take the Driver's Permit Test at the DMV must have a letter from Lebanon High School called a Truancy Letter. The DMV calls this letter a Proof of School Attendance.  This letter is letting the DMV know that the student has good attendance. 

The student must request and pick up The Truancy Form from the Attendance Secretary in A100 and there is a 24-hour notice required.  Students sign up one day and pick up the next.  

Once the form has been requested, the form is good for 30 days. 

After 30 days, the DMV will not take the form and the student will need to request a new Truancy Form 24-hours in advance.

Applicants under the age of 18 must prove they are enrolled in school and making satisfactory progress. If they have already graduated, they must bring their high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate with them when they apply. If not, they need to ask their school to complete a Certificate of Compulsory School Attendance and take the original part of this form with them to a driver license station. The form is valid for only 30 days.

If a student fifteen years of age or older drops out of school or fails to make satisfactory academic progress, the school is required to notify the Department of Safety. This suspends the student's driving privileges. The first time a student drops out, he or she may regain the privilege to drive by returning to school and making satisfactory academic progress. There is no second chance, however. The second time a student drops out he or she must wait to turn 18 years old before being eligible to apply.

Our traffic pattern is set up for efficiency and safety each morning and afternoon. It is important that all drivers on our campus obey the traffic signs and designated flow.
Please follow this list of traffic rules while on the LHS campus.

• Obey all "One-Way" traffic signs.
• The speed limit in our parking lot is 10 mph. This is posted.
• In the afternoons, parents who are picking up students should NOT use the faculty lot in front of the school.
• Those picking up students should ONLY use the right lane. The left lane is for busses. 
• If there are sawhorses or gates blocking off an area, DO NOT move these (unless you have our permission). They are there for a reason.

We will have extra personnel, police presence, and speed monitoring around campus throughout the last 8 weeks of this school year. Persistent violators may be "uninvited" from our campus for the remainder of this school year. 

We want everyone to feel safe while on our campus, whether walking or driving across a parking lot. We also want those following the rules to feel like they are being treated fairly. 
Safety and order are a priority, and we have hundreds of cars and visitors coming on and off campus in a very short amount of time. It takes everyone's effort to make it happen.

The commons doors will open for all students at 8:05 a.m.

Parking Rules

• All students parking on campus are required to purchase a parking permit and park in their designated, numbered parking spot in the student parking lot. Parking permits are available to students in all grade levels who have a valid driver's license and are sold at the Blue Devil Bank before school and after school throughout the year.
• Students parking on campus without purchasing a parking permit will have a boot placement on their vehicle and a fine of $25 for boot removal.
• Parking permits must be purchased BEFORE a student parks on campus for the first time. Due to spaces being assigned, students may not drive to campus and purchase a pass day of as they could be taking the spot of another student. 
• Parking permit applications require a parent or guardian's signature.
